When you contact us

When you submit an inquiry, we use the name, email address and project details you provide to respond and discuss your work. You may also choose to share a phone number, service or city. The form sends these details to Showman by email.

We do not add inquiry contacts to a mailing list. Essential processing also helps deliver the website, send requested inquiries and limit misuse of the form.

Optional usage analytics

If you allow usage analytics, we use Umami to understand which pages people visit, how they find us, their general device and browser type, and their approximate location. We also count contact-button clicks and successfully submitted inquiries. Analytics events do not include the names, email addresses, phone numbers or project details entered in inquiry forms.

Approximate location can be derived from the network address used to connect to our service. It is not precise device location. Network addresses may also be processed by the services delivering the website and analytics connection.

Optional recordings & heatmaps

If you also allow interaction recordings, a sample of page interactions may be recorded to help us understand clicks, scrolling and areas that are difficult to use. These interactions can also inform heatmaps. This is a reconstruction of activity on our website; it does not record your camera, microphone or other apps.

Page text and form inputs are masked, and inquiry forms are excluded from recordings. Usage analytics must be enabled for this option. Masking limits the information retained in recordings.

Where information is handled

Our Umami analytics system is hosted on a computer managed by Showman. The public connection uses Cloudflare to relay encrypted traffic to that system. Cloudflare processes connection information as part of providing that service.

Showman uses website information to understand visits, improve the website and respond to inquiries. We do not use it for advertising profiles or sell it.

Change your choice

Optional analytics and recordings stay off until you allow them. Choose Essential only to use the website and inquiry forms without those optional features. Your choice is stored in this browser so we can remember it on later visits; clearing browser storage or using another browser may mean you are asked again.

You can change your choice using Privacy settings in the footer. Turning an option off stops future collection for that option. It does not automatically delete information collected earlier.

How long analytics are kept

Daily cleanup removes recordings and heatmap activity older than 30 days, including saved recordings, and basic analytics older than 12 months. Backups are kept for seven days, so recently removed information may remain in a backup until it expires.

These limits apply to website analytics. Project inquiries and business correspondence are handled separately as part of responding to you and carrying out your work.
